I’m an Interface Developer with proven professional experience and expertise in web development and front-end technologies. I’m passionate about my discipline’s best-practice, maintenance of web standards, accessibility, and front-end performance.
Languages: My core skills are CSS, JavaScript and XHTML. In addition to these I am proficient in AJAX, CSS3, JSON, jQuery, Microformats, WAI-ARIA, XML and XUL.
Other cool stuff: I can slice and dice with Photoshop. I’m confident working within back-end code, including JAVA, JSP struts and tiles, PHP, and .NET. I’ve version-controlled in CVS, Perforce, SVN, TFS and VSS. I like making Mozilla extensions.

- June 2009 - Present: Design Technologist (Contract), Expedia
Maintaining and building Hotels.com to develop a quality and high-performing site for its quarter of a million daily visitors. Converting design and UI assets into static and dynamic front-end markup. Working in a distributed environment with a team based in London, Dallas, Budapest and Szeged. Auditing quality of existing code, making recommendations and contributing to best-practice documents for improvements of accessibility, performance and general code quality. Creating interactive prototypes of new functionality using standalone pages, Greasemonkey and Firefox extensions.
- May 2007 - June 2009: Interface Developer, LBi
Highlights include: worked SCRUM on the next generation of BT Tradespace, replacing the existing version of the site with a more dynamic and responsive experience, with AJAX, jQuery and CSS3 work involved; Worked as one of the principal Interface Developers building Barclays.com, working closely with back-end developers to create 80+ CMS-able modules to be used in different locations throughout the site, including library-free Javascript and AJAX work; Participated in a self-organized group of Interface Developers, Creatives and Experience Architects who met regularly to discuss how to better integrate our working practices between our disciplines.

Played a key role on the frontline of the roll-out of Unilever’s award-winning global corporate websites. Provided telephone, email and web support for worldwide Unilever web teams using the Tridion content management system. Resolved issues, handled ad-hoc training requirements and liaised with Unilever IT development and infrastructure departments in ensuring that local country web teams were properly supported in creating, maintaining and publishing their corporate web sites
